Le 12 avril, l'International Finance Corporation et OCP Group ont annoncé un partenariat par le biais d'un prêt vert historique. Ce prêt vise à construire quatre centrales solaires pour alimenter les installations de l’OCP au Maroc, dans le but de réduire l'empreinte carbone de l'entreprise et de rendre sa production d'engrais plus écologique.
Dans le cadre de cet accord, annoncé lors des réunions de printemps du Fonds Monétaire International et du Groupe de la Banque mondiale à Washington D.C., l'IFC accordera à l'OCP un prêt vert de 100 millions d'euros pour construire les centrales solaires dans les villes minières de Benguerir et de Khouribga. Les centrales auront une capacité combinée de 202 mégawatts crête (MWc) et fourniront de l'énergie propre directement aux installations de l'OCP.
On the 12th of April, International Finance Corporation and OCP Group announced a partnership through a landmark green loan. It aims to build four solar plants to power OCP’s Morocco operations, for the purpose of reducing the company’s carbon footprint and helping green its fertilizer production.
Under the agreement, announced during the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington D.C., IFC will provide OCP with a green loan of €100 million to build the solar plants in the mining towns of Benguerir and Khouribga. The plants will have a combined capacity of 202-Megawatt peak (MWp) and will supply clean energy directly to OCP's operations.
The project will leverage the expertise of INNOV’X, an innovation engine launched by UM6P in 2022 dedicated to building innovative and sustainable businesses and #ecosystems with strong local impact.
