On the occasion of the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, UM6P Sustainability Office (UM6P SO) is raising awareness about simple actions that can help reduce food waste across campus.
From taking only what we can consume to sharing surplus food, everyday choices can make a meaningful difference. Through the Solidarity Fridges at the T1 and CCI restaurants, surplus food can be shared rather than wasted.
Leftover bread is also given a second life through Gachipain, present on both the Benguerir and Rabat campuses. Collected bread is delivered to the Agricultural Innovation and Technology Transfer Center (AITTC) to feed poultry.
Together, these initiatives turn responsible food habits into concrete action and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient campus.
