Le 15 septembre, l’African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) a participé à la 6e conférence internationale RISE-SWC sur le thème « Initiatives pour des sols durables en Afrique », qui s’est tenue à Rabat.
Le Dr Kaushik Majumdar, directeur exécutif de l’APNI, a souligné l’importance de renforcer la santé des plantes comme base de leur résilience. Il a également mis en avant le rôle essentiel des nutriments dans la gestion du stress par les plantes, la production d’antioxydants et la résistance aux chocs climatiques. Son intervention a par ailleurs insisté sur la nécessité de recentrer les efforts sur la gestion des sols et de l’eau, éléments clés pour garantir la sécurité alimentaire à long terme en Afrique.
On the 15th of September, the African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) took part in the 6th International RISE-SWC Conference on “Soil Initiatives Towards Sustainable Agriculture in Africa”, held in Rabat.
Dr. Kaushik Majumdar, the Executive Director at APNI, highlighted the importance of building health within plants as a foundation for resilience. He also mentioned how essential nutrients help plants manage stress, produce antioxidants, and withstand climate shocks. The intervention also emphasized the need for renewed focus on soil and water management as key to ensuring long-term food security across Africa.
