CoreLabs UM6P a été sélectionné pour recevoir le 2026 I2SL Lab Programs and Initiatives Award pour son initiative « Pioneering Hazardous Waste Management in Morocco ».
L’UM6P est la seule institution marocaine reconnue cette année, ainsi que la seule institution reconnue en Afrique du Nord et sur l’ensemble du continent africain.
Cette distinction internationale, qui s’inscrit dans le cadre des I2SL Sustainable Laboratory Awards, met à l’honneur des initiatives innovantes et à fort impact en matière de développement durable dans les laboratoires de recherche à travers le monde, selon des critères tels que l’impact environnemental, l’innovation, les indicateurs de performance et la reproductibilité des initiatives.
Le prix récompense l’approche structurée de CoreLabs en matière de prévention, de traçabilité et de réduction de l’impact des déchets dangereux, ainsi que l’engagement du Département de Durabilité à faire progresser cette réalisation opérationnelle jusqu’à une reconnaissance internationale.
Aux côtés d’institutions telles que MIT, EMBL et l’Université de Géorgie, l’UM6P continue de contribuer à la promotion d’une recherche responsable et d’une innovation durable en Afrique.

UM6P is the only Moroccan institution recognized this year, and the only institution recognized in North Africa and across the African continent.
Part of the I2SL Sustainable Laboratory Awards, this international recognition highlights innovative and impactful sustainability initiatives in research laboratories worldwide, based on criteria including environmental impact, innovation, performance indicators, and replicability.
The award recognizes CoreLabs’ structured approach to hazardous waste prevention, traceability, and impact reduction, as well as the commitment of the Sustainability Office in driving this operational achievement toward international recognition.
Alongside institutions such as MIT, EMBL, and the University of Georgia, UM6P continues to contribute to advancing responsible research and sustainable innovation in Africa.
